I am steering away from my Bella Craft projects a little to start selling and promoting my skull cushions. I am currently looking for a name for this new business and have had some great help. I really like Calavera but I am thinking it’s already taken (Boo000) Have you got ideas for me?

I hand painted with gold fabric paint in a Chevron pattern and quite liked it as it was but as far as a craft project goes it was far too quick and easy.

I knew I wanted to roughly stitch something on for it to go in my living room but I was unsure of what to do so I sat down the other day and just started stitching. I love it when you can tell something is hand made and that is exactly the look I was going for.

It was a super easy project and I LOVE my little penny farthing.

Our living room just needs a quick spruce up then I will be hanging it with pride.

We are hopefully having a bit of a re design at home in the next year or so and I know I want to make a few for our bedroom wall to hang in a cluster in lighter brighter colours. What do you think?

I have had a busy couple of weeks with mine and my gorgeous husbands wedding anniversary, he made me an amazing meal and we got the whole evening to spend together.

A few days after our anniversary we jetted off to Lanzarote with some friends for a week in the sun. It was sooooo nice and the holiday blues have well and truly kicked in. Coming back to torrential downpours in August hasn’t helped.

I am glad to be reunited with my favourite little ginger though. We spent the whole day yesterday with her sat on my knee doing crafts.

I didn’t get much done before the holiday as we had such a busy time beforehand but I am getting back on it this weekend. One of my good friends is due to have her little bambino in September and I am making an animal/farmyard mobile for his/hers nursery. I have been assigned a swap partner and have kept updated with her twitter account and blog (http://bakingaitch.wordpress.com)  I cannot delve into what I am making at the minute as I would like it to be a surprise but as soon as my strawberry swap partner has received her gift I will do a post.

This brings me onto my next subject… I did a pincushion swap back in June with a lovely lady called Becky who will  hopefully soon be starting up her own little craft business. I received a beautiful little cupcake pin cushion and I LOVE it. I use it all the time it’s super cute.

Craft swaps are an amazing idea for networking with fellow crafters but also It’s so lovely to receive a handmade gift that somebody has put their heart and soul in to.

I might even look into setting up some kind of craft swap myself maybe at Christmas time, I bet it’s so much fun. You can do ANY type of craft.

We have almost made our sponsorship target on our just giving page and I have yet to count what we have made from generous clients at work.

The girls from work and myself are planning on doing a sky dive in March for breast cancer care so will be on with the fundraising of that soon.

Anyway on to what else I have been up to this last week…

It has been a fair few weeks since my last blog post and I feel pretty disappointed in myself. I have gone from doing one or two posts every week since my new blog got up and running to one a month, Oops.

I can’t even say I have been crazy busy because what I’ve actually been doing is becoming seriously addicted to my kindle. I have turned into some kind of major bookworm and have ploughed my way through 11 books in the last 4 weeks. I am a little unhappy to tell you I am going cold turkey for a while….Let the blogging commence!

So as well as reading, looking after Boo, reading, working, reading and housework I have been doing little bits of sewing.

I have made a couple of kindle pockets that I finally got the hang of after my failed attempts at the beginning of the year. I made one as a birthday gift and made a custom green one from a lovely young lady from Instagram (I love that app.)

I have come up with a little range of items I am going to made in the coming months but for obvious reasons I can’t delve into that too much just yet. All will be revealed ASAP.

I have started my Christmas crafts, I know that probably sounds slightly crazy but it was such a busy time for me last year that I want to be fully prepared and I have a few big items I would like to make. I think I am going to do a few items the same as last year but lots of new stuff.

I have made a couple of little items for our living room. I stitched a map of Zante and a heart over where Tsilivi would be (that’s where me and J got married.)  I framed it in a little old frame I found in a charity shop  and it now sits on our window sill.

I’ve also painted a gold chevron pattern onto a yellowy coloured fabric, I’ve secured it into an embroidery hoop and I’m debating whether to leave it as it is or stitch something onto it. Mmm what do you think?
