A belated hello!
Ok, so here it is – my very first Bella Craft post… a few weeks behind Aimee’s. You’ll soon realise who the organised member of our team is! My name is Emma, and like Aimee, I love making things. I’m really excited about Bella Craft and looking forward to sharing our sewing adventures with the world. Hopefully we’ll be able to provide some tips and ideas, as we learn along the way. And hopefully you’ll see us developing our skills and growing in creativity with time and experience.
I began sewing and doing craft as a way to relax and unwind after a hectic day at work. My job can be stressful and there is something very therapeutic about sitting and creating something. I started out painting and making little gifts for friends, and have recently begun branching out into more house-y things like cushion covers.
Recently I had a sewing lesson with another crafty individual, who runs a local sewing business called ‘Running with Scissors’. She runs sewing workshops, and also does one to one lessons in Sheffield. She’s a great teacher and it was a fun, educational experience for me. My sewing skills have definitely improved as a result, and I’ll share more about what I learnt in my next post.
